Today we took apart a clutch from a Toyota 3K engine to be inspected. We started by removing the clutch operating cable then removing the bolts which hold the bell housing to the engine which gave us access to the clutch. I inspected the pressure plate for damage/wear to the fingers and for any cracks, i did find a significant amount of wear on the fingers and also on the clutch plate i found that its was worn right down almost to the rivets, i would have replaced the clutch plate/pressure plate and release bearing if in a workshop situation. We then reassembled the unit.
